The Dog House was founded in April 2008 by me, Sonia Chivers and my dog Merlot. After many years of commuting and working in London, I decided that I needed a change of pace and wanted to find a job I truly loved. I trained at The Canine Design Academy in Dog Grooming, a decision I have never regretted. In fact, my only regret is not making the change sooner!

Since opening The Dog House, a lot has changed. We have moved to different premises 3 times, many of my customers have been to every location! I have expanded my team, and sadly, lost Merlot, who was a significant part of The Dog House. Despite these changes, our ethos remains the same: to work with your dog to build confidence in a calm environment. This ethos has led me to work with many reactive to grooming dogs and help turn their experience around.

When I'm not in The Dog House, my current Golden Retriever, Digby, serves as a PAT (therapy) dog. We regularly visit a local Dementia Care Home in West End, where Digby has made many friends and brings smiles to lots of faces.
